  4. This program is freeware.
  5.  
  6. This is a beta-version of my 4DOS.INI configuration program.
  7.  
  8. It lets you edit most settings in the 4DOS.INI file.
  9.  
  10. I think it is simple to use, but a short explaination about how it
  11. works.
  12.  
  13. If you start 4DC without any option it will look in c:\4dos\ for
  14. the 4dos.ini file. If you want to edit a another file just
  15. start 4DC with '4dc <path>\<name>'.
  16.  
  17. When you save the file (Alt-S) it creates a backup file of your
  18. old ini file with name 'c:\4dosini.bak'. If there already is a
  19. 'c:\4dosini.bak' it will be overwritten.

  21. You quit the program with Alt-X, you will not get a question
  22. to save your file.
  23.  
  24. If you want to reset all, press Alt-Z, no question. It will not
  25. clean any colordir or keymapping.

  27. F9 swaps between secondary and primary shell.
  28.  
  29. F10 redraws the screen.
  30.  
  31. There is no error-detection in loading the ini-file, is there is
  32. something unexpected, there may be some problem. But I think
  33. it is pretty safe anyway.

  35. 4DC does not check for any illegal or unlogical setting, or any
  36. duplicate colordir-extensions.
  37.  
  38. There may be some setting that you cant use in [Secondary] shell
  39. but 4DC does not check that.
  40. Will fix that soon.

  42. I have not included the undocumented troubleshooting directives
  43. in 4DC, cant see any reason.

  45. [Main Editor]
  46.   You use the arrowkeys to move the cursor up and down and to change
  47.   group. To left you see the of the INI-directive, then you see the
  48.   value.
  49.   When a setting is grey, it is set default and will not be saved
  50.   in 4dos.ini. When it is colored it is not default and will
  51.   be saved. With [Esc] you can reset a value to default.

  53. [Color Dir Editor]
  54.   Press F6 if you want to go to ColorDir-editor, and F6 again
  55.   if you want back to main.
  56.   Move cursor with arrowkey and press enter if you want to edit
  57.   Colordir. When the arrow is red you can type anything.
  58.   If you want to set color for DIRS, RDONLY, ARCHIVE, SYSTEM or
  59.   HIDDEN just press Alt-D, Alt-R, Alt-A, Alt-S or Alt-H.
  60.   Press F1 to change color.
  61.   Press F10 to see how the Colordir line will look like.
  62.   PRess F9 to swap between Primary and Secondary Shell.

  64.   Limitation: 13 extensions * 35 groups.
  65.               Extended Wildcard is not supported yet.

  67. [Key mapping Editor]
  68.   Press F5 if you want to go to the Key Mapping Editor and F5 again
  69.   if you want back to main.
  70.   Press F1 to get help-screen.
  71.   If upper windows you can choose which directive you want to define.
  72.   In lower windows you see which directives is chosed, here you can
  73.   also delete a chosed directive with the Del key.
  74.   Swap between windows with the TAB key.
  75.   Press F9 to swap between primary and secondary shell.
  76.   Limitation: Max 120 key definitions. Problem? Mail me!
